The PP seeks support to demand that the Government adopt "whatever measures are necessary" to meet the deficit and debt objectives committed to Brussels. The popular ones denounce the "irresponsibility" of the Government of José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, which ended its mandate with a 9.6% deficit, arguing that the PSOE "cannot repeat the mistakes of the past." The PP wants the Plenary of Congress to demand that the Government comply with fiscal discipline and the containment of public spending , in line with the approaches of the community authorities. This is what he will defend on Tuesday during the debate on the motion he has presented for what could be the last plenary session of the legislature if the Cortes are dissolved due to lack of agreement for the investiture.

The motion, reported by Europa Press , is a consequence of the questioning addressed this Wednesday to the acting Minister of Finance, María Jesús Montero, by the PP's fiscal spokesperson, Mario Garcés.
